Rgf reme halo reviews11/16/2023 ![]() ![]() I’d start with proper airflow, measured with precision instruments, not the hand-ometer. Several meters like air advice, and TZOA can help pinpoint specific airborne…stuff. If you are not using a HEPA vacuum in your home daily understand what is happening with those circulating particles. They changed the design and the box and are selling them again. Are there specific things in your air that need to be removed or killed? The ion generating devices have created havoc in other industries (Sharper Image, ionic breeze… anyone) for years. Someone prescribing a solution without proper diagnosis is akin to malpractice. Measurements and testing before selling you a magic box, find the specific problems in your home and specific remedies. Find someone more on the building science side than a sales tech. Dwell time on a typically system is ridiculously low. If you want to treat your coil with UV, you’ll need like 12 of them for the typical US system with an N coil. I'm already spending another $2,500 on return air ducting and other things, so it would help to cut the cost there. If I am super handy, diligently read instructions, and understand the placement and wiring requirements for the Reme or I-Wave, can I just install myself? I realize the Reme offers no warranty if not installed by a pro (not sure about I-Wave), but since it's go much less to buy the part myself, is it worth the gamble? I don't want to piss off my HVAC company because I really like them, but the $600 I would save is a large number. Does the I-Wave have the same anti-microbial capability as the Reme? Would it combat that dirty sock issue without the light? But will a UV light really prevent growth if it's placed to one side of an n-shaped coil? It seem like the light wont get to the other side. I have the dirty sock problem in the spring and fall (Houston) and my understanding is the UV light combats this. I am also not so concerned with longevity, because I don't plan to be at this current house for more than 4 years. Reme will cost 1200 vs 900 for the I-Wave, so not such a big difference. He wasn't aware that Reme came out with the LED, but is able to install that instead. Another said he went to I-Wave because it doesn't require bulb replacement. ![]() Hi all, I am currently deciding between the Reme Halo LED and the I-Wave for my home system.
